JOB SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator is responsible for a broad range of IT systems support.  Responsibilities include user access control, supporting 50+ satellite offices, all business software and hardware including workstations and network equipment. This position collaborates heavily with the IT Team to minimize problems for Bigos employees while looking for ways to improve efficiency and system stability.  The Systems Administrator will routinely analyze support data and present report with insights to the team.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES     
·         Manage Zendesk Help Center environment (article moderation, reporting, updates)

·         Tier 1 response on IT Help Center tickets 

·         Assist with IT onboarding functions for new employees

·         Configure employee devices: laptops, desktops, iPads, and other accessories

·         Lead iPad onboarding sessions for new maintenance employees

·         Perform audits and inspections of site systems including networks, computers, phone, print and AV systems

·         Configure, install, and maintain desktop and laptop PCs and peripherals

·         Assist with installation and configuration of application and operating system software and upgrades

·         Work with IT vendors including ISP’s, Telco’s, Microsoft and other managed service providers to quickly resolve technical problems

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education and Experience:        

·         2-year Technical degree in Computer Networking, System Administration, or related IT field

·         Relevant professional experience may be substituted for education

·         3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a related role

Skills and Abilities:

·         Fluent in English and skilled in oral and written communication

·         Ability to use tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous manner when dealing with co-workers and the public

·         Strong decision-making, problem solving, and time management skills

·         Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously with self-direction

·         Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

·         Must have reliable transportation and valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance as travel between sites is required

Knowledge of:

·         Help Center management (Zendesk or equivalent)

·         User onboarding and offboarding workflows

·         Device setup (desktop PCs, laptops, iPads)

·         Hardware troubleshooting (computer hard drives, RAM, displays, peripherals, phone systems, printers)

·         Understanding of physical computer repair including replacement of individual hardware components

·         Software troubleshooting (Windows 10, Microsoft 365 products including Outlook, Word/Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Browsers including Edge Chromium and Chrome)

·         Network troubleshooting (ISPs, modems, firewalls, switches, access points, patch panels, data cabling, UPS units)

·         Experience with a project management software

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, while also frequently traveling to 50+ property locations around the Twin Cities. Must have strength to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds; vision to read printed material and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in-person and over the telephone.  Must be able to quickly and easily navigate Bigos properties and buildings as required to meet the job functions, including climbing stairs and walking the hallways and common areas.
